Glaciers and Things. Venturing out into the backcountry? This is a must have course in your backcountry education. Backcountry education is a life long skill of making good decisions with your team. This course helps to continue and build on the basic foundation for Alpine Touring and is taught by Matt Reynolds ACMG Ski guide in Jasper. We have known and skied with Matt for many years, he has been part of the Sundance travel family for a very long time. He is a gifted guide and instructor. Join us for the continuation of your backcountry education journey, you won't be disappointed.

ACMG Matt Reynolds Bio below

Matt Reynolds has been an AST provider for more than 20 years. He works full time as a mountain guide based in Jasper, Alberta, where he lives with his wife and daughter.

Matt has a wide range of experience working as a heli ski guide, ski touring guide, ice climbing guide, summer mountaineering guide and consultant. Matt has also worked as a snowcat ski guide where he managed the guiding team at Cariboo Snowcat Skiing for close to 15 years.

Matt has focused a lot of his guiding career on instruction and mentorship. He is a sessional instructor for Thompson Rivers University’s Adventure Studies program. He is an instructor / examiner for the ACMG training and Assessment program. He has taught ‘The North Face Leadership’ course for the Alpine Club of Canada for over 10 years and he has been a key instructor for the Canadian Armed Forces Search and Rescue Mountain Operations program for more than 10 years.

Matt continues to refine lesson plans for all levels of avalanche education, and continues to learn along the way. Matt has a passion for bringing mountains, people and adventure together.
