Review for Salomon Dancehaul Snowboard

by Maxime Gagnon-Leblanc

The Salomon Dancehaul snowboard is versatile and a fun all-mountain ride. Perfect for riders who want to have fun everywhere on the mountain no matter if it's on the groom runs or powder runs. Its standout feature is it's wide shape which offers stability and float particularly in powder without compromising agility. Despite its width, the Dancehaul is great for quick turns and playful riding.

Pros:

  • Playful and Surfy Feel: The tapered directional shape allows for flowing turns and a surf-like ride especially in deep snow.
  • Wide Platform for Stability: Its wider width offer edge hold and stability at high speed while providing a solid landing surface for jumps and freestyle tricks.
  • All-Mountain Versatility: Whether you're carving groomers, hitting side hits or cruising through powder, the Dancehaul handles it all.
  • Responsive and Pop Heavy: The board's medium flex provides a perfect balance of responsiveness and pop making it fun for both intermediate and advanced riders.

Cons:

  • Not Ideal for Beginners: The wide shape might feel hard to control for less experienced riders.
  • Specialized Shape: Its directional shape makes it less suited for riding switch so it's not the best choice for someone looking for a true twin snowboard.

In summary, the Salomon Dancehaul is a great choice for riders who prioritize fun and creativity over traditional snowboarding styles. It's perfect for those who love slashing through powder and carving up groomers but may not be the best fit for beginners or those looking for a symmetrical freestyle board.

I've been riding the Dancehaul since it was first released during the 2020-2021 season and it has quickly become one of my favorite snowboards. You should think about stopping by Sundance Ski and Snowboard Shop to take a look!
